Outline Itinerary


Day 1: Arrive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
It is a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. A Tour Officer and driver representing Kipling Travel will cordially receive you at Kathmandu Airport. Then, you will be escorted to your hotel in the city.


Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. Early morning enjoy the breakfast and head towards the most popular Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva- Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered the holiest place in Nepal to cremate the departed ones. You can easily witness the culture of Hindu funeral in Aryaghat at Pashupatinath. Then few minutes’ walk will bring you to Boudhnath, which is one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world. In this UNESCO World Heritage Site you can observe Buddhist monks absorbed in prayer surrounding the stupa. The Tibetan flavor is well observed in the backstreets of Boudhanath. Then, you will have your lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Stupa. After lunch, you will drive to Kathmandu Durbar Square. This ancient courtyard is incredible with enormous craftsmanship of the local inhabitants of primeval and medieval ages. The stone paved streets, pagoda style edifices and the religious monuments of different deities are the live cultural displays of ancient time. After, the thorough exploration of these world heritage sites, you will probably let go your exhaustion at your cozy hotel room.


Day 3: Drive to Nuwakot, – Sightseeing tour of Nuwakot Durbar and Temple & School visit
After breakfast you will begin your journey from Kathmandu by on a private vehicle. A 3-4 hours ride passing through picturesque villages and magnificent mountain vistas, will bring you to a hill top village of Nuwakot. Nuwakot has a huge historical significance relating to the unification of modern day Nepal. The kings of Shah Dynasty ruled the place many years ago before King Prithivi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal invaded the place during his mission of Nation Unification. The seven storied ancient palace built between 1763 AD and 1770 AD by Prithivi Narayan Shah reflects the cultural and architectural reflection of the time. After the thorough exploration of Palace site and its vicinity you will visit a local school in Nuwakot where you will get an opportunity to interact with the Nepalese students. Then you will be escorted to a traditional Nepalese house where you will be staying for the night. You will also enjoy the traditional Nepali cuisine in the house.


Day 4: Transfer to Khursani Khola and trek to Samari Bhanjyang
Today you will drive till Khursani Khola from where the hike to Samari Bhanjyang begins. You will arrive to Samari Bhanjyang in about two hours via Kagune and Chilaune Baas. Samari is an ideal place to experience the local Tamang culture and their agrarian lifestyle. Samari also offers some majestic views of Ganesh, Manaslu and other Himalayan Ranges. You will arrive to a destination well known for typical Nepalese home-stay experience. The beautiful village nestling in the middle hills of Nuwakot, Samari has been one of the most popular destinations of Nepal for rural tourism. You will have your night’s accommodation in Samari Ghar, a heart-warming typical house.


Day 5: Day hike to Kallabari/ Overnight at Samari
One of the few activities to do around Samari is a hike to Kallabari. During your mid-hills trek to Kallabari, you will get the opportunity to observe the bounty of scenic beauty and typical rural mid-hills life. You will witness a real rural life, slow and steady and so different from the Nepalese cities. For the overnight stay you will return to Samari Ghar.


Day 6: Day Hike to Pokhari. PM Samari
Today, you will hike to Pokhari along the next hill around Samari via Maibal. Relishing the amazing Himalayan range to the north and Tamang villages to the south, you will hike for about 3 hours to reach Pokhari. Later in the day you will retrace your path back to Samari for the home-stay accommodation.


Day 7: Trek to Sele
One of the best mid-hills trial around Nuwakot and Samari links to Sele, your last stop over of the whole trip. After 4-5 hours walk through Bharang Bhurung village, Tharpu village and Tharpu Bhangyang, you will reach Sele village. A short hike up the hill from Sele village brings you to your camping site, which is a small plateau accessing 360 degree view of the Annapurna, Manaslu and Ganesh, neighboring villages and valleys. Since, the home-stay or tea house accommodation is not yet available in Sele you will be accommodating in the camps.
Slle village is a cluster of Tamang households, barely touched by modern facilities except a school and few shops.

Overnight in big tents at Kipling Hilltop Camp with great views to Ganesh Himal, Manaslu mountains with Bhouda and far west, Annapurna.


Day 8: Rest day or day hike to next hill in Sele
For today’s activities, you can consult with your guide as there are some choices. You can have an excursion round the village and school. You can also hike up to Mahabir Chuli, which can be reached by a 2-3 hours hike. You can view Gorkha Bazar, Arughat, Budi Gandaki River, and the Himalayan Panorama from the Chuli. Another option can be visiting Semjong village (3 hours hike), which is at the other side of Selle or Bhokteni village which is on the way from Tharpu to Selle. The best thing you can do is to have a conversation with your guide who will offer you the best option considering your interest. Overnight in camp.


Day 9: Trek to Dhading and transfer to Kathmandu
The final day of your trip will be a 2 hours trek to Torke from where you will be transferred to Dhadhing Besi and then to Kathmandu in a private vehicle. Once again, you will be escorted to your hotel in Kathmandu. You will have your evening free for independent activities.


Day 10: Depart Kathmandu
Our tour officer and a driver will be at your hotel reception to pick you up three and half hours prior to your departure. You will be transferred to the airport in a private vehicle. Our tour officer and driver will see you off. Have a safe flight and sweet memories back home.
